Homage to Amitabha Tathagata, invoking the nectar of immortality for rebirth in Pure Land
The Rebirth Dharani (往生咒) is one of the most important mantras in Pure Land Buddhism. It invokes Amitabha Buddha for rebirth in Sukhavati (Western Pure Land). The mantra calls upon the "nectar of immortality" (amṛta) and is recited for the dying or deceased to ensure favorable rebirth. Popular in Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese Buddhism.
