Shani Mantra

Significance & Meaning

Salutations to Saturn, the slow-moving one

The Shani Mantra is dedicated to Saturn (Shani), the planet of justice, karma, and discipline. Shani is known as the "slow-moving one" because Saturn has the longest orbit among the visible planets. He is both feared and revered for his role in testing devotees and delivering the fruits of their karma.

Chanting this mantra is believed to appease Shani during the challenging Sade Sati (7.5-year Saturn transit) and Shani Dasha periods. It helps reduce obstacles, delays, and hardships associated with Saturn's influence while teaching patience, discipline, and acceptance of karmic lessons.

Saturday is considered the most auspicious day for Shani worship, and devotees often light sesame oil lamps and offer black items to the deity.
