The Ushnishavijaya Mantra invokes Namgyalma (Tibetan) or Ushnishavijaya (Sanskrit), one of the three Long-Life Deities in Tibetan Buddhism.
Meaning
- Om Bhrum Svaha - Invocation with her seed syllable BHRUM
- Om Amrita - "Immortal nectar"
- Ayur - "Life/longevity"
- Dade - "Granting/bestowing"
- Svaha - Accomplishment
The mantra requests the granting of immortal nectar and long life.
The Three Long-Life Deities
In Tibetan Buddhism, three deities are associated with longevity:
- Amitayus - Buddha of Infinite Life
- White Tara - Swift compassionate protection
- Ushnishavijaya - Victorious crown protuberance

Practice
This mantra is recited in long-life empowerments and when circumambulating stupas, as the full dharani is frequently inscribed on stupa architecture.
